Chery aims to sell 1 million vehicles in 2 years with debut of all-terrain SUV HIMLA at Shanghai Auto Show

On April 23, the opening day of the Shanghai Auto Show, Chery unveiled its new global strategy under the theme of “Navigating the Future”, declaring its intention to achieve annual global sales of 1 million vehicles within two years. The brand also unveiled its first series of pickup trucks. To date, Chery has won wide recognition from nearly 3,000 dealers, well-known domestic and international media, and brand users in 97 countries and territories. Based on the core value of “Safe and Family-Oriented”, Chery is committed to promoting the equality of hybrid technology and deepening its work in local markets. The company’s goal is to become a trusted choice for families around the world. Through technological innovation and expansion of product lineup, Chery aims to become a “global technology leader”.

At the Shanghai Auto Show, Chery unveiled its Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) vehicles: TIGGO7 CSH, TIGGO8 CSH and the flagship TIGGO9 CSH. The first stage of the “Endless Horizon Worry-Free Voyage” endurance test was successfully completed ahead of the event. The TIGGO9 CSH and ARRIZO8 CSH vehicles set impressive records by traveling an ultra-long distance of over 1,400 km with an ultra-low fuel consumption of only 4.2 liters per 100 km. To further enhance its family-oriented approach, Chery will launch programs such as “Mission Impossible” and “Living Without Limits”, providing exceptional mobility for families around the world.

In 2024, Chery achieved global sales of 640,000 units, and TIGGO7 became the best-selling A-class SUV. The brand also successfully entered the European market. Relying on a global R&D network comprising 8 research centers, 10 production bases and regional component centers, Chery adheres to its “In somewhere, For somewhere” philosophy, adapting solutions to local markets and strengthening its globalization strategy.

Conquering new segments, Chery unveiled its all-new HIMLA pickup lineup at the Shanghai Auto Show. Designed to handle all terrains and scenarios, the Himalayan-inspired series features gasoline, diesel and new energy powertrains, leading the pickups to transform into a premium, passenger-oriented category. This move further diversifies Chery’s global product portfolio.

Chery also showcased its achievements in AI by unveiling the AiMOGA robot and robot dog, offering a glimpse of the future of mobility through the company’s eyes. With its family-oriented positioning, global R&D capabilities, and diversified product strategy, Chery is charting a clear path forward. This strategic launch could be a turning point in the company’s quest to compete with the world’s leading automakers.
