Mom’s Meals, a leading comprehensive food as medicine solutions provider, hosted a tour recently in its Oklahoma City kitchen with U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, focused on the importance of food as medicine.
“This moment recognizes Mom’s Meals’ leadership locally and nationally, fueled by our dedicated team of over 2,300 employees across 36 states,” said Chris Choi, CEO of Mom’s Meals. “Together, we prepare and deliver 1.5 million nutritious meals every week – that do not include artificial dyes, or any ingredients commonly found in ultra-processed foods – integrating comprehensive nutritional support, education, and behavioral change to improve health outcomes for Americans.”
Today’s visit coincided with Governor Stitt’s recent signing of “The Food is Medicine Act,” a legislation recognizing the vital role of nutrition in managing chronic disease. Published research has shown that people with chronic disease benefit from access to home-delivered medically tailored meals and improved outcomes include fewer hospitalizations and meaningful reductions in the total cost of care.
“Oklahoma is proud to lead the way in recognizing the critical role nutrition plays in improving health,” said Governor Kevin Stitt. “We’re seeing firsthand how greater access to nutritious food can help reduce chronic disease and lower health care costs across our state.”
