Exemplar Luxury Group, one of the largest multi-brand luxury retailers in America comprising Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman, announced the appointment of Lanessa Elrod to President, Bergdorf Goodman, effective November 2. In this role, she will join the Exemplar Luxury Management Team.
Elrod’s early career spanned ELG’s banners, holding merchandising roles at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman. She returns to Bergdorf Goodman, bringing extensive leadership experience encompassing luxury retail, merchandising and business strategy, most recently serving as President and CEO of Louis Vuitton Americas where she oversaw the Maison’s business across the U.S., Canada and Latin America. In this role, she led a period of substantial business growth, championing innovation across the organization and cultivating genuine relationships with teams and customers alike.
“Bergdorf Goodman is a crown jewel in the industry, known as an important catalyst for identifying and nurturing designer talent and its unmatched ability to anticipate customer preferences and exceed their desires,” said Geoffroy van Raemdonck, Chief Executive Officer, Exemplar Luxury Group. “As we continue to realize the full potential of our banners, Lanessa’s appointment marks an important step in advancing our strategic priorities and further strengthening Bergdorf’s position as the pinnacle of luxury.”

Elrod’s proven track record of delivering results and building high-performing teams, coupled with her experience serving as a CEO for one of the world’s most prestigious luxury maisons, will be instrumental in shaping Bergdorf Goodman’s future as ELG continues to elevate the banner’s position as the pinnacle of luxury. With a strong customer-first philosophy and deep industry relationships, she will further elevate the client experience and build on the exceptional service and assortment that has long distinguished Bergdorf’s in the market.
“I am thrilled to be joining Exemplar Luxury Group at this pivotal time. Bergdorf Goodman played a defining role in my career, so returning as President is especially meaningful,” said Elrod. “Its creativity and distinctive point of view have earned it a singular place in the world of luxury. I look forward to working alongside its exceptional team and our brand partners to build on that legacy and shape its next era, deepening personal connections with customers and bringing the store’s spirit of discovery to life in new ways.”
To support ELG’s ongoing transformation, Tracy Margolies will be transitioning to the role of Executive Advisor, Exemplar Luxury Group, reporting to van Raemdonck. In this capacity, Margolies will leverage her deep institutional knowledge and leadership experience to drive continued progress against the company’s key priorities.
This year, Bergdorf Goodman celebrates 125 years as the defining destination for luxury fashion and an enduring New York institution. As the brand looks to its next chapter, it remains committed to preserving the distinctive qualities that set it apart—from its extraordinary curation and fashion authority to the sense of discovery, unparalleled service and exceptional experiences that define the Bergdorf Goodman experience. Building on this legacy, the brand will continue to evolve with intention, finding new ways to bring these defining characteristics to life for future generations of luxury customers.
