Akemona, Inc., a capital markets infrastructure provider for tokenized securities, recently announced a partnership between its wholly owned subsidiary, Akemona TA Services, LLC, doing business as OnchainTA, and Transfer Online, Inc. (TOL). OnchainTA is an SEC-registered Digital Transfer Agent focused exclusively on tokenized securities, while TOL is a full-service, SEC-registered transfer agent. Under the signed agreement, OnchainTA will provide digital transfer agent services powered by Akemona’s tokenization platform to TOL, enabling TOL to expand its services for tokenized securities.

Since 1999, TOL has provided transfer agent services to private and public companies, combining experienced human support with a technology-forward shareholder management platform, compliance-focused operations, and real-time reporting.

The relationship is designed to allow TOL to extend its issuer-facing transfer agent services to tokenized securities. TOL will remain the transfer agent of record and the primary point of contact for participating issuers, while OnchainTA will provide assigned tokenization and digital securities services through TOL-approved workflows.

“Transfer Online has always invested in its own technology, and that commitment keeps us at the forefront of the transfer agent industry,” said Bryan Cochran, Director of Operations at Transfer Online. “For tokenization, we chose to partner with proven experts in the space to complement the platform we’ve built in-house. OnchainTA’s digital securities capabilities let us offer issuers what’s next in capital markets, while TOL remains their transfer agent of record and the team they already trust.”

OnchainTA’s Digital Transfer Agent services may include token setup, digital security recordkeeping, transfer and corporate action support, and reconciliation reporting. The scope of services for each issuer or offering will be mutually agreed by the parties.

“Rather than reinvent what specialists already do well, we brought in a leading tokenization partner and integrated their capabilities into our existing operations,” added Cochran. “Every engagement runs through TOL-defined workflows, with full oversight and real-time visibility. Our team will support issuers from token setup through transfers, corporate actions, and reconciliation, and we plan to begin offering tokenization to Transfer Online clients early next year.”

The agreement reflects a model developed for established transfer agents that want to add tokenized securities capabilities seamlessly alongside their existing operations. Services will be delivered through TOL-approved workflows and mutually agreed operating procedures.

“Transfer Online brings decades of transfer agent experience, a strong issuer-service model, and a practical commitment to technology,” said Alex de Lorraine, Chief Executive Officer of Akemona. “Winning TOL’s RFP and completing the partnership agreement are important validations of our approach. OnchainTA gives established transfer agents a way to add digital securities capabilities directly within their existing operating and compliance frameworks.”

The relationship comes as OnchainTA prepares to introduce OnchainTA Release 2 shortly. Built on Akemona’s tokenization infrastructure, the release will expand self-service capabilities across the Issuer Hub, Investor Portal, Admin Console, and related tokenization workflows. TOL personnel will receive training and support on the platform so they can obtain the records, reports, transaction information, and exception data needed to oversee each engagement and serve participating issuers.

OnchainTA Release 2 will include peer-to-peer Direct Transfer capabilities for compliant bilateral transfers of tokenized securities, subject to investor eligibility, identity verification, applicable transfer restrictions, and transfer agent controls. It will also include Cap Table Tokenization (CTT), which will enable verified issuer cap table positions to be converted into administered digital securities through a controlled process, and Digital Cap Table (DCT) capabilities designed to record, reconcile, and present digital security ownership information across complex ownership structures.

Akemona TA Services, LLC, doing business as OnchainTA, has operated as an SEC-registered Digital Transfer Agent for tokenized securities since 2021. OnchainTA combines registered transfer agent functions with Akemona’s tokenization technology to support the administration of digital securities throughout their lifecycle.

“OnchainTA Release 2 brings together capabilities that issuers, transfer agents, and investors need as digital securities move into practical use,” said Ravi Srivastava, Founder and Chief Product Officer of Akemona. “Peer-to-peer Direct Transfer, Cap Table Tokenization, and Digital Cap Table are being designed as connected parts of the same operating environment. Our work with Transfer Online gives us a strong framework for delivering those capabilities through an experienced, full-service transfer agent.”

The companies expect to begin implementation planning and onboarding following completion of the applicable engagement documentation. Commercial terms were not disclosed.
