ATI Physical Therapy, a nationally recognized provider of outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine services, announces the nationwide launch of ATI Online Scheduling, a first-of-its-kind scheduling platform in the outpatient physical therapy space designed to make it easier for patients to schedule care.

ATI Online Scheduling gives eligible patients a faster and more convenient way to schedule their first appointment online. Patients with a referral received by ATI can schedule directly through the platform. Many consumers in Direct Access states* will also be able to schedule their first appointment using the ATI platform.

By providing an online scheduling option 24 X 7, ATI is making it easier for patients seeking physical therapy to get their first appointment when and where it works best for their schedule. Eligible patients can complete the online scheduling process in under five minutes.

“Access is an important part of the patience experience,” said Sharon Vitti, CEO at ATI Physical Therapy. “ATI Online Scheduling uses technology to remove barriers and make it easy for patients to book a convenient appointment.”

For referral partners, ATI Online Scheduling provides eligible referred patients with an easy path to schedule their first appointment after ATI receives their referral. The traditional referral process remains unchanged, while the new scheduling option gives patients a faster option to schedule care recommended by their provider.

“Online scheduling is the norm in most of healthcare, but in referral-based care, and physical therapy in particular, patients have usually only been able to request an appointment and then wait for a call back,” said Chris Cox, COO at ATI Physical Therapy. “ATI Online Scheduling advances the process. Eligible patients, whether they come to us through a referral or through Direct Access, can book their first appointment themselves in real time. Taking out those extra steps helps patients start care sooner and makes the first step with ATI simpler and more seamless.”

The launch reflects ATI’s continued focus on improving access to musculoskeletal care and creating a seamless patient experience from the beginning. ATI Online Scheduling is now available nationwide for eligible patients.

Online scheduling availability may vary by location, appointment type, insurance, provider, appointment availability, and state requirements, including those governing direct access—the ability to receive physical therapy evaluation and treatment without a physician’s referral. Patients who are not eligible to schedule online will be connected with ATI for additional support.

Current states offering direct access within the ATI footprint are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. Access level may vary by state.

Scheduling time is based on the average online scheduling completion time for eligible patients scheduling their first appointment. Timing may vary.
