Wipro Engineering Edge forges partnership with Spartan Radar boosting Connected Driving Solutions

Thomas Mueller, CTO of Wipro Engineering Edge

Wipro Limited, a leading technology consulting and services company, announced today a partnership between its Engineering Edge business line and Spartan Radar, an automated mobility sensor software provider, to build advanced vehicle solutions. In conjunction with the deal, Wipro Ventures, the corporate investment arm of Wipro, announced that it has invested in Spartan Radar’s Series B funding round.

Industry sources added that this partnership and Investment will permit Wipro to leverage Spartan Radar’s software-defined 4D imaging radar technology to build next-generation Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) on the Wipro Cloud Car Platform. The joint solution will be available to Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and their direct suppliers (Tier 1 Suppliers) to enable assisted and automated driving solutions. These unique cost-effective solutions will improve safety and allow drivers to upgrade their cars with the features they desire.

Thomas Mueller, CTO of Wipro Engineering Edge stated “Most vehicles come with pre-built ADAS features, which cannot be retrofitted or upgraded. Our goal is to enable OEMs to fit a set of high-performance, affordable sensors to every vehicle, making every car capable of delivering advanced driver assistance and conditional autonomous driving. Our Cloud Car Platform will deliver Spartan technology to leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, helping them deliver cost-effective, future-ready ADAS that enable seamless scalability. “

Nathan Mintz, CEO and co-founder of Spartan

“Spartan fills the gaps between today’s ADAS and tomorrow’s autonomous vehicles,” said Nathan Mintz, CEO and co-founder of Spartan. “Our mission is to fundamentally address radar shortcomings such as low resolution, minimal range, and AI integration to create a disruptive, software-driven, high-resolution 4D imaging radar. Working with the Wipro Cloud Car team will enable us to provide high-quality, cost-effective security enhancements to the industry.”

Additionally, the Spartan products will be integrated into the intellectual property of Wipro’s AI pipeline and Cloud Car data engine, enabling OEMs to deliver ADAS capabilities on demand. This partnership will allow automakers to build cars that are constantly improving.
