Western Alliance Bank announced yesterday that Lynne Biggio Herndon has been appointed as the Bank’s new Chief Credit Officer.
“We are excited to welcome Lynne to the Western Alliance team,” said Ken Vecchione, president and chief executive officer of Western Alliance Bank. “Her decades of experience managing complex credits and implementing sound risk management practices will complement our already strong credit function and ensure that we maintain our industry-leading asset quality.”
As Western Alliance’s CCO, Ms. Herndon will chair the Bank’s Senior Loan Committee and be a key member of its Executive Leadership Team, in addition to overseeing its credit administration function. Herndon brings more than 30 years of experience to her new role. She has held senior credit positions at Regions Bank and BBVA USA, and, most recently, served as West Region Commercial Credit Executive at PNC Bank. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Alabama.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Western Alliance Bank,” said Herndon. “Western Alliance has a long track record for strong credit quality, and I’ve had the great pleasure of working with many of the people there over the years. I look forward to continuing, and building on, its culture of disciplined and proactive credit risk management.”
Vecchione continued, “Lynne’s appointment completes the organizational changes we first announced in 2022 and will allow Tim Bruckner to assume his new role as Chief Banking Officer for Regional Banking. I would like to thank Tim for his many years of service as our CCO, where he has been instrumental in maintaining our industry-leading asset quality. Tim, together with Steve Curley in his new role as Chief Banking Officer for National Business Lines, will lead our strategy to be the nation’s leader in commercial banking centered on our proven diversified business model, deep sector expertise, and strong client relationships.”
