Stateside Associates Names Johnathan Lozier President as Mark Anderson Transitions to Chairman

Johnathan B. Lozier

Stateside Associates, the nation’s premier state and local government relations firm, recently announced a planned leadership transition to drive the company’s next phase of growth. Johnathan Lozier has been named President, succeeding longtime leader Mark Anderson, who will transition to Chairman at the end of 2026. Michael Behm continues his role as Chief Executive Officer.

Mark Anderson’s transition to Chairman marks the culmination of over 30 years of transformative leadership at Stateside. After taking the helm alongside Michael Behm, Anderson focused on scaling the business year-over-year—instituting disciplined financial management, forging key industry partnerships like Advocus, and building the strongest talent bench in the firm’s history. Anderson also spearheaded Stateside’s swift pivot during the COVID-19 pandemic to introduce new, high-value service offerings, protecting client programs and positioning the firm for resilient, long-term growth.

“Building Stateside alongside this exceptional team over the past three decades has been the privilege of my career,” said Mark Anderson, Co-CEO and incoming Chairman. “We have consistently grown by investing in our people and staying ahead of our clients’ evolving needs. Johnathan has been an integral part of that progress since joining us, and there is no one better suited to lead Stateside into this next chapter.”

Michael Behm, Chief Executive Officer, added: “When Mark and I took leadership of Stateside, our goal was to build an enduring, premier organization for our team and our clients. We far exceeded those goals, thanks to Mark’s leadership and execution. I’m thrilled for him as he steps into the Chairman role and look forward to partnering with Johnathan as we accelerate the firm’s future.”

Johnathan joined Stateside in January 2016, and has played a pivotal role in recruiting elite talent, establishing key practice areas, and significantly expanding the firm’s consulting division. As President, Lozier takes the reins of a mature, thriving firm with a clear focus on leveling up, rolling out new client services, integrating advanced workflow technologies, adding specialized expertise, and driving strategic expansion across the states.

“Stateside has always defined the standard in state and local government affairs, and our foundation has never been stronger,” said Johnathan Lozier, President. “Our focus now is to build on that momentum—expanding our consulting capabilities, modernizing our tools, and deploying cutting-edge technology so our teams deliver sharper insights and even faster execution for our clients nationwide. I’m energized to lead our team into this next era.”
