MyFitnessPal launches Weekly Habits

MyFitnessPal's new Weekly Habits feature.

MyFitnessPal, one of the popular nutrition and food tracking apps, announced yesterday (on 5 February 2025) a new feature designed to make building healthy habits simple and sustainable. Weekly Habits encourages members to set achievable, one-week goals, helping them stay motivated and confident as they progress toward their health and nutrition goals.

“At MyFitnessPal, we understand that big changes come from small, consistent actions,” said Tim Holley, Chief Product Officer at MyFitnessPal. “Weekly Habits allows our members to focus on progress, not perfection, by breaking their goals into manageable steps. It’s a simple, empowering way to build healthier routines, one week at a time.”

With Weekly Habits, members can focus on habits that matter most to them, such as drinking more water, eating more protein, or adding more vegetables to their meals. Each week, members can select a habit, track their progress, and celebrate their wins, creating a positive feedback loop that keeps them motivated.

“Healthcare professionals and registered dietitians, including the credentialed experts that work with our MyFitnessPal team, often recommend setting SMART goals—specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound—as a proven method for building lasting healthy habits,” says Stephanie Nelson, RD, Lead Nutrition Scientist at MyFitnessPal. “That’s why we worked closely with our Scientific Advisory Council to develop Weekly Habits, giving members a simple way to set and achieve their own SMART goals. By breaking goals into manageable, one-week steps, Weekly Habits helps members focus on the changes, celebrating their wins along the way.”
