The Center Brands, a beauty accelerator, and Dr. Mamina Turegano today announce their acquisition of Boscia, setting the stage for a new chapter of the skincare brand. Acquired by The Center Brands in partnership with Dr. Mamina Turegano, Boscia will be reimagined through the lens of modern dermatology while preserving the Japanese skincare philosophy, ingredients, and rituals that have long defined its identity.
The Center Brands acquired Boscia from Japanese cosmetics giant FANCL, which launched Boscia in California in 2002. The word “Boscia” comes from the marriage of “botanical” and “science”.
For Dr. Mamina Turegano, the connection to the brand is personal. Boscia’s Japanese roots resonate with her own heritage and childhood memories of skincare rituals shared with her mother and grandmother. That perspective, together with her dermatological expertise, will help guide the brand’s evolution.

“Boscia has always felt personal to me because of its Japanese roots and its appreciation for the rituals of caring for your skin,” said Dr. Mamina Turegano. “Those rituals were part of my childhood with my mother and grandmother, and they still shape how I think about skincare. I’m excited to bring that connection and my perspective as a triple board-certified dermatologist to Boscia.”
The new Boscia will retain the sense of discovery and enjoyment that distinguished the original brand, with modern skincare science informing its approach to formulation, efficacy, and safety.
“What drew us to Boscia was the combination of its history, its Japanese skincare philosophy and the excitement people felt around its products,” said Ben Bennett. “Dr. Mamina Turegano shares that appreciation and brings a deeply personal connection to the brand. Together, we have the distinct honor of taking what made Boscia special and advancing that unique sensibility into the future.”
