Ontario International Airport Authority elects Loveridge, Porada to serve as Commission President, Vice President

New OIAA Board President Ronald O. Loveridge

The Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) Board of Commissioners elected new leadership on Tuesday, selecting Dr. Ronald O. Loveridge to serve as Board president and Debra Porada as vice president.

Loveridge, former mayor of Riverside, has served on the OIAA Board of Commissioners since its founding in 2012. He began his career in public service as a Riverside City Councilmember in 1979, and has served on the boards of numerous prominent organizations, including the California Air Resources Board, California Forward Action Fund, California Competes, South Coast Air Quality Management District, Southern California Association of Governments, Western Riverside Council of Governments and Inland Empire Economic Partnership. He is a past president of the National League of Cities and the League of California Cities, and currently teaches political science at the University of California, Riverside.

“Ontario International Airport is one of the Inland Empire’s most important economic and transportation assets, and I am honored to serve as president of the Airport Authority Board,” Loveridge said. “ONT has experienced extraordinary growth and progress under local control, and our responsibility now is to build on that momentum in a thoughtful, strategic way that serves our passengers, our communities and the entire Southern California region.”

Porada, mayor pro tem for the City of Ontario, has served on the City Council since 2008. In addition to her OIAA role, Porada serves on the Water Facilities Authority Board, is a regional Policy Committee member for the Inland Empire Utilities Agency and is past president of the California League of Cities, Inland Empire Division.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as vice president and to work alongside Dr. Loveridge and my fellow commissioners at such an important time for Ontario International Airport,” Porada said. “ONT has established itself as a premier gateway for Southern California, with a strong foundation for continued growth. I look forward to helping ensure that the airport continues to deliver the exceptional service, accessibility and economic opportunity our region deserves.”

The Board also selected commissioners Julia Gouw as treasurer and Jim Bowman as secretary.
