Akkodis, Thales, and KWESST win a major contract by the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) recently to modernize and transform software systems. The contract is worth an estimated CAD 136 million and will see the three companies collaborate to develop, support, and sustain specialized command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) software and integration services required to uphold the safety of Canadians.
Akkodis is a global digital engineering company that provides consulting and software engineering services. Thales is a global technology company that specializes in defense, aerospace, transportation, and digital identity and security. KWESST Micro Systems is a Canadian company that develops and manufactures advanced technology for the defense and security markets.
The contract is a significant win for Akkodis, Thales, and KWESST, as it demonstrates their commitment to the digital transformation of Canada’s armed forces. The project will help to ensure that Canada’s armed forces are equipped with the latest digital technologies and that they can continue to protect the country’s security.
The project will commence before the end of 2023 and will be primarily based in the National Capital Region. Support will also be provided across Canada at various DND locations.
